Badgers @ The Old Village Bakery is sited between West Street and North Street, just off Alfriston Market Square. The village of Alfriston is steeped in history, and has many lovely sights, including its beautiful church, the “Cathedral of the South Downs”, the Clergy House (the first property ever bought by the National Trust), the High Street full of listed buildings, the pretty Cuckmere River meandering past the village, and of course the South Downs Way which passes through the village.

There are many interesting shops, including a bookshop, antiques shop, cookshop (the first of the Steamer Trading chain, sited in Steamer’s Cottage), jewellery, gift and furniture shops, and even a sweetshop!

Alfriston has beautiful pubs, restaurants with rooms, two hotels, and several fine B&Bs, so you can enjoy a stay in the village, whatever your price range. Come and visit!
